My antenna is \nonly a 70 cm HO loop with a mast mounted preamp. Haven't yet repaired the \nG-5500 (Yaesu hasn't responded to my queries!). Surprisingly, that antenna \nworks quite well for E1P. Here's how I configured my equipment:\n\nReceiver Mode: LSB\nFreq: 437.5017 at pass start (excluding Doppler) drifting down to \n437.50110. This could either be due to a slight error in the keps, or drift \nin the satellite's transmitter. This requires manual tweaking of the \nreceiver in addition to Doppler correction. I tuned the receiver so the 1 \nsecond tuning tone from E1P was at the upper 1200 baud packet marker in \nMixW.\n\nDemodulator: MixW set at normal 1200 baud packet. Using a virtual serial \nport emulator to connect to the E1P telemetry decoder. Also fed the audio \nto a KPC-9612, but was not able to decode any packets, even though MixW was \nhaving no problem with the signal.\n\nI'm really amazed that I could collect data from a cube sat using my omni \nantenna! So far my best (in two passes) was 23 decoded telemetry frames.\n\nKen, W7KKE\nCN75xa\n\n\n\n\n", "attachments": [] }
