My IC-910H is \"ailing\" \nand I don't want to be without it for long.\n\nI noticed that signals on 2M satellites sounded a bit weaker than \nnormal, but I attributed that to random phasing. Then during the Perseid \nmeteor showers, all my QSO's turned into marathon events, many lasting \nwell over an hour. Even at distances that should have been easy, and \nwith stations running high power. I investigated further by monitoring \ntwo local beacons, and noticed that one was much weaker than normal, and \nthe other could not be copied at all. Using WSJT, I couldn't even see \nthe faint trace of the carrier.\n\nAlso checked local NOAA weather stations...and I can normally copy at \nleast one station on each frequency. Now, I can only seem to manage to \nhear stations on the two of them. Something is amiss. I swapped out \ncables, checked connections, etc. Nothing improves the situation. \nTransmit output power is normal on all bands.\n\nThe problem appears to be isolated to 2 Meter receive, but it's \ndifficult to check other frequencies here.\n\nAny recommendation on where to send my baby?\n\n\n-- \n--\n73,\n\nLes Rayburn, N1LF\n121 Mayfair Park\nMaylene, AL 35114\nEM63nf\n\n6M VUCC #1712\nAMSAT #38965\nGrid Bandits #222\nSoutheastern VHF Society\nCentral States VHF Society Life Member\nSix Club #2484\n\nActive on 6 Meters thru 1296, 10GHz & Light\n\n", "attachments": [] }
