Then I started SatPC32 with CAT steering activated at start (menu\nOptions). My first satellite is FO-29. The program switched the radio into\nSplit mode and tuned both VFOs to the correct frequencies and modes\n(downlink: VFO B, UHF, USB, uplink: VFO A, VHF, LSB). When I pressed the\nPTT button the radio transmitted on the correct VHF uplink in LSB and I\ncould tune around in the passband with the VFO.\n\nI made the same test but with CAT steering deactivated at program start.\nWhen I activated CAT steering (C+) the program did all settings correctly,\nexcept the uplink mode. This was USB instead of LSB. I clicked the FO-29\nident letter and the uplink mode was then also set correctly to LSB.\n\nMy settings in menu Radio Setup: CAT baud rate 38400, CAT delay 110. All 4\ncheckboxes unchecked. Interval in menu CAT: 70 Hz for SSB, 200 Hz for FM\nsats.\n\n73s and Happy New Year,\nErich, DK1TB\n\n----- Original Message ----- \nFrom: \"Tim Goodrich\" <[email protected]>\nTo: <[email protected]>\nSent: Tuesday, December 30, 2008 4:51 AM\nSubject: [amsat-bb] help with 817 and satpc32\n\n\n> Hi all,\n>\n> I just finally upgraded to general over the weekend, so I went out and got\n> a\n> Yeasu 817. However, I'm having problems with using it for Doppler tracking\n> in SatPC32. Here's what it's doing.\n>\n>\n>\n> When I turn the control on, the radio will track the frequencies that are\n> showing in SatPC32 for both the uplink and the downlink. It switches\n> between\n> the uplink and downlink frequencies quite often- about once per second.\n> The\n> radio will also switch to the correct mode (FM, etc). However, when I hit\n> PTT, it transmits on the previously stored VFOb frequency.\n>\n>\n>\n> So, for example....\n>\n>\n>\n> 1) I tune vfoa to 50.1Mhz, AM and vfob to 50.5Mhz, AM\n>\n> 2) I turn CAT control on from SatPC32\n>\n> 3) The radio starts switching between the vhf downlink frequency in USB\n> and\n> the uhf uplink frequency in USB about once per second to correct for\n> Doppler\n>\n>\n> 4) When I press transmit, it transmits at 50.1Mhz, but in LSB\n>\n>\n>\n> Obviously, it should be flipping between the VFOs (instead of 2 freq's in\n> one VFO).\n>\n>\n>\n> So it seems like its flipping frequencies in one VFO and then trying to\n> transmit in another VFO, where it changes the mode for transmit, but not\n> the\n> frequency that was originally stored.\n>\n>\n>\n> Any help please?\n>\n>\n>\n> Tim\n>\n> KC2DDS/AG\n>\n> _______________________________________________\n> Sent via [email protected].
