"content": "Hi Tony,\n All of the AO-40 telemetry is archived on the AMSAT website. You can \nstart at\n\nhttp://www.amsat.org/amsat/ftp/telemetry/ao40/\n\nFor November 17 at 15:11 UTC you probably want the file\n\nhttp://www.amsat.org/amsat/ftp/telemetry/ao40/2000/11/ao40_2000-11-17_00003.zip\n\nfor the corresponding telemetry from that day.\n\nFor the satellite's position, you can use the then-current TLEs from \nearlier that day\nwhich are in the file\n\nhttp://www.amsat.org/amsat/ftp/telemetry/ao40/2000/11/ao40_2000-11-17_00002.zip\n\nAlmost every telemetry zip file contains a .TLE file with the NORAD TLE \nelements\nthat correspond to that telemetry. For example, the file \nao40_2000-11-17_00002.zip\ncontains AO40_NORAD_SET_3.TLE which contains the then-current TLEs.\nThose TLEs were only a few hours old when your recording was made. If \nyou\nload those into a prediction program you can get the satellite's \nposition.\n\nIf your telemetry data from your recording is not already in the \narchives, then\nI'm sure we could get it added as a late submission. Let us all know \nif your data\nis unique! If you're not sure, send me what you copied or send me the \nrecording.\n\n73 and I hope all of this helps,\nDouglas KA2UPW/5\n\n-----Original Message-----\nFrom: Tony <[email protected]>\nTo: amsat-bb <[email protected]>\nSent: Fri, Sep 7, 2012 11:41 pm\nSubject: [amsat-bb] Deciphering Phase 3D Telemetry\n\n\nAll:\n\nI found a recording I had made of OSCAR-40's beacon on an old hard\ndrive. I decoded the telemetry with AO40 RCV and found that it dates\nback to November 17, 2000. The status window shows that AO-40 was on\nit's third orbit at 15:11 UTC.\n\nI'd like to know the position of satellite when the recording was made\nand was wondering where I can find an accurate set of old Keplerian\nelements?\n\nThanks,\n\nTony -K2MO\n_______________________________________________\nSent via [email protected].
