"content": "Hi Clint!\n\n> When he slides into his car, he is ALWAYS stopping alongside a highway to\n> work a satellite. (Did you see the video he posted yesterday? He is LITERALLY\n> stopped alongside a highway just to work a bird for our benefit.)\n\nFor the pass shown in the video from Saturday, I was out in the Holiday Inn\nparking lot near the end of the lunch break working that pass. Adrian AA5UK\nand another ham were also out there. Adrian was planning to listen to the pass\nand maybe work some stations, then decided to wander over to my setup. He\nhad the thought to roll the video about halfway through the pass,\nsomething I didn't\nthink of at the time (I didn't consider this a \"demonstration\", even\nthough I had an\nexternal speaker hooked up to my radio once I saw someone standing near me\nto watch what I was doing.\n\nAs for stopping along the highway to work a bird, you heard me do that Sunday\nevening when we had our contact on AO-51. I found a spot on the EN40tx/EN41ta\ngrid boundary north of Galesburg IL, along a county road surrounded by farmland,\nand had a good view to the west for that 6-degree maximum pass. I also worked\nAO-7 and FO-29 after AO-51 went away Sunday evening, and a couple of early\nmorning AO-51 passes before making my drive back to O'Hare for the flight home.\nI will scribble more about the post-Symposium road trip later.\n\nHope to hear you next Saturday, when I'm at a hamfest in Tucson that morning.\nMore on that in a separate message. Now, back to getting caught up on the\npaperwork and e-mails that accumulated from being out of the office for a few\ndays.\n\n73!\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPatrick WD9EWK/VA7EWK\nhttp://www.wd9ewk.net/\n\nP.S.: Thanks to all for the kind words in this thread and others posted in the\npast couple of days. I'm not the only one that works hard on behalf of AMSAT,\nso let's not forget the others. As mentioned earlier, a bunch of people were\nrecognized at the Symposium for their hard work on behalf of this organization.\n",
