    "content": "People always mention XP Mode, which can only be installed on Win 7 Pro, \nUlitimate, or Enterprise, but if you have an installation disk for XP \navailable, you can install & run XP on lower versions of Win 7.\n\nSimply download & install the standalone version of Virtual PC from \nMicrosoft (free), create a virtual machine, and then install XP on it (note \nthat, if you don't have a CD drive, you must burn an ISO of the installation \ndisk to a flash drive and configure that as a virtual CD-ROM in your virtual \nmachine).
