"content": "Hi Henk and David,\n\nIf you want to try out some larger WAV recordings of the BPSK-1000 beacon\nyou can get some from the oz7sat system.\nStart at\nhttp://www.amsat.dk/oz7sat/sched.php?gs=oz1kte&sat=ARISSAT-1&status=All then\nselect a particular pass and download the recording. The files are about 65\nMB each. Our system starts recording about 90 seconds before AOS and\ncontinues to a bit after LOS as calculated for our station in Copenhagen.\n\nThese files are received using a USRP fitted with a WBX module. A piece of\nGNU radio code splits the 256 KHz wide stream from the USRP into separate\nstreams for the BPSK beacon, the linear transponder area and the FM channel.\nThe GNU radio code also performs doppler adjustment of the whole signal.\nThe BPSK stream is saved to disk and in parallel fed through Phil Karn's\ndemod program to extract the telemetry frames.\nThe telemetry viewer is currently only capable of showing the first few\nfields of the packets.\n\nThe telemetry decoder seems to be a bit sensitive to sudden jumps in\nfrequency. We have tried manual tracking with 100 Hz steps but that did not\nwork very well. Using 50 Hz steps was much better. Our system is now\nadjusting the doppler offset once a second which gives a good result.\n\n\nRegards\nScott, OZ2ABA\n\n\n-----Original Message-----\nFrom: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On\nBehalf Of PA3GUO\nSent: 8. august 2011 19:06\nTo: [email protected]; [email protected]\nSubject: [amsat-bb] ARISSat TLM test WAV file pointer\n\nDavid\n\nhttps://svn.sarpeidon.net/viewvc/suitsat2/ground_station_software/ARISSatTLM\n/install-staging/Sample_ARISSat_Recording1.WAV?revision=3003\n\nthis is a test WAV file, and my install of ARISSatTLM is able to decode\nthis.\n9.6MB, 1:45 minutes.\n\nwould be useful to place this on www.arissattlm.org\n\nHenk, PA3GUO\n\n\nHi Henk.\n\nI've had some issues with decoding BPSK too.  Worked fine on the first day,\nthen unable to decode anything.\nEventually I reloaded the software and played a wav file through the system.\nFinally it began decoding again. I don't really know what the problem was.\nIt still will not send tlm via the internet and I can't get sound\nout...Hence the wav files.\n\nProblem is the wav file I have is large so I cant send it to you to try.\nPerhaps some one has 30 seconds worth that does decode, then we can use that\nas a standard to check our systems.\n\nI've been tracking doppler by hand. Seems to work OK but it's very important\nto keep the CW in the 'blue' window.\nI would think jumps would not be good. Perhaps frequent doppler updates.  -\nSo very small jumps.\n\nI also heard HB9 last night on the transponder, but in low power mode (45\nsec)that is difficult. - I'll wait for some daylight passes.\n\nGood luck\n\nDavid G0MRF\n\n\n\n\n-----Original Message-----\nFrom: PA3GUO <[email protected]>\nTo: amsat-bb <[email protected]>\nSent: Mon, 8 Aug 2011 10:41\nSubject: [amsat-bb] ARISSat TLM decoding using FCD Just sharing the results\nof my recordings of last night:\n(using the FCD + HDSDR)\n\n \n\n- FM voice works fine\n\n- Xponder works fine (HB9AOB was very clear)\n\n- CW decoding works fine (the Tuning indicator locks on the CW\nbump)\n\n- BPSK decoding did not work (I hear & see the signal, but no\ndecode)\n\n \n\nIs the BPSK decoding very sensitive to doppler / freq hops ?\n\n \n\nHenk, PA3GUO\n\n \n\n_______________________________________________\nSent via [email protected].
