    "content": "An International Space Station school contact has been planned with participants at iSPACE, Cincinnati OH on 08 Oct. The event is scheduled to begin at approximately 16:15 UTC. It is recommended that you start listening approximately 10 minutes before this time.The duration of the contact is approximately 9 minutes and 30 seconds. The contact will be a telebridge between OR4ISS and IK1SLD. The contact should be audible over Italy and adjacent areas.  Interested parties are invited to listen in on the 145.80 MHz downlink. The contact is expected to be conducted in English.\n\n \n\n \n\nIn 2001, iSPACE, a 501(c)(3) organization, incorporated as a STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) educational resource for schools throughout the Greater Cincinnati region.  The iSPACE mission is to make STEM learning exciting and to promote STEM career awareness, through interactive programs for students, educators and families in the region.  iSPACE provides innovative and effective programs, events and learning experiences for students (grades preK­12), their educators and their families including field trips, outreach, professional development and other programs that stimulate interest and appreciation for STEM. In 2015, iSPACE programs served a diverse population of 24,731 youth and 5,791 adults in more than 500 schools.  iSPACE works diligently to collaborate within the regional and their programs are recognized for their effectiveness throughout the STEM community.  Through rigorous alignment to national and state standards and the utilization of best practices, iSPACE continues to develop curriculum for educators and inquiry­based educational opportunities for students.  iSPACE has made a mark in Greater Cincinnati for our high quality programs that measurably and effectively inspire students in science, technology, engineering and mathematics, increase their content knowledge and introduce them to STEM careers.\n\n \n\n \n\nParticipants will ask as many of the following questions as time allows: \n\n \n\n1. What has been the most exciting part of your mission so far?\n\n2. After seeing all the places on Earth from space, which one do you most \n\n   want to visit once you get back to Earth?\n\n3. What's your favorite part of the day?\n\n4. I know you use animals in research. How many animals do you have in space \n\n   with you right now and how do you take care of them?\n\n5. Can a flying insect fly in space?\n\n6. When you were preparing to leave high school did you know that you wanted \n\n   to be an astronaut?  How did you decide what you wanted to do after high \n\n   school?\n\n7. Please describe your years of education and training that led to your \n\n   assignment on the space station.\n\n8. Do you practice emergency drills?  Can you describe some of the critical \n\n   incidents that you need to prepare for?\n\n9. Will your stay in space get shorter if you have too many headaches? Also, \n\n   if you have ever had a space headache, what did it feel like during and \n\n   after?\n\n10. What are the major research projects you are focusing on and what \n\n    discoveries have you made?\n\n11. Have any of the experiments failed or given you totally different results \n\n    than you expected?\n\n12. Do you prefer being in space or on Earth?\n\n13. What has been your greatest challenge so far and how did you respond to \n\n    it?\n\n14. Can you describe what zero gravity feels like?\n\n15. Have you done a spacewalk and how does it feel?\n\n16. What do you think the biggest advances will be in the space program over the next ten year?\n\n17. What are you most looking forward to when you return to earth and what \n\n    will you miss the most from your mission?\n\n18. In the United States, sponsors are the Radio Amateur Satellite Corporation (AMSAT), the American Radio Relay League (ARRL), the Center for the Advancement of Science in Space (CASIS) and  National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).  The primary goal of ARISS is to promote exploration of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) topics by organizing scheduled contacts via amateur radio between crew members aboard the ISS and students in classrooms or informal education venues.  With the help of experienced amateur radio volunteers, ISS crews speak directly with large audiences in a variety of public forums.
