"content": "I read a message from Jerry, N5EKO, that the gentleman's agreement is to\noperate 3-10 kHz above the bottom band edge. WSJT-X may show you about 2.5\nto 3 kHz of passband on a typical computer screen. So, that 7 kHz seems a\nbit much to monitor all at once. I think it'd be easier to just pick a\nstandard calling offset from the bottom band edge to monitor when the\nsatellite is passing. If we all started listening to +3 kHz to +5.5 kHz\nUSB FT4 mode from the band edge it's a simple rule of thumb and we know\nwhere to listen to those signals seemingly under the noise floor. Many\nusers don't have a band scope. So, a designated offset would be helpful.\n\nExample: RS-44 Satellite downlink passband is 435.61 - 435.67 MHz\nListen or CQ by setting SATPC32 satellite (not rig since it changes due to\ndoppler) frequency to 435.613 USB mode and choosing FT4 on WSJT-X\n\nso, the satellite (not rig) downlink frequency for\nFO-29 = 435.803\nAO-07 = 145.928\nHO-113 = 435.168\nand so forth for other satellites. Maybe the XWs, CAs, JO-97, and EO-88\nbirds would be good for FT4, too.\n\n\nMike, AA9VI\nEN52\n\n\n",
