    "content": "In the USA\n\nI am not aware of any Federal law that prevents listening to government\nfrequencies. They are considered directed communications and can not be used\nfor personal gain nor be repeated or transcribed by the listener. \n\nThere are many local laws, however as soon as the constitutionality of the\nlocal laws are challenged (Regulatory rights for radio communication are\nreserved for the Federal Government) charges are dropped.
