"content": "Hi John\n\nI have a FT300M in my movil station for years. It works great with FM sats\nwith 1/4 whip on the roof. You will only need a headset if you want to work\nin full-duplex, although in half-duplex also works fine beacuse of its high\npower, near of 70 Watts.\n\nBut I enjoy receiving with a UHF hand held HT and a CJU antenna attached to\nit and using the FT3000M with a 1/4 whip antenna to uplink.\n\nYou can see some videos at:\n\n\nhttp://eb4dka.laserenadigital.com\n\n\n\nhttp://personales.ya.com/ea4cax/\nJuan Antonio\nEA4CYQ\n73s\n\n\nDate: Fri, 15 Jan 2010 13:15:35 -0800 (PST)\n\nFrom: John Geiger <[email protected]>\n\nSubject: [amsat-bb]\n\nTo: [email protected]\n\nMessage-ID: <[email protected]>\n\nContent-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii\n\n\n\nHas anyone on the list used a Yaesu FT3000M on the Mode J FM sats? Does it\nhave pretty good receive sensitivity for the birds? Can it do full duplex,\nwhere you can hear your own downlink? What I have seen written about it\nseems to indicate that it can. Any other comments-good or bad-about this\nmodel?\n\n\n\n73s John AA5JG\n",
