In the strategic planning\nprocess, however, member engagement means helping AMSAT figure out how\nand where to find new and realistic opportunities to move the\norganization forward. To that end, AMSAT is asking for your help by\n“engaging” the AMSAT leadership with YOUR desires, needs and vision\nabout the future direction of AMSAT by providing your best answers to\nthe five questions below:\n\n1. What are 3-5 new products, services or activities that AMSAT\nshould START offering or doing (in order of priority, 1 being\nhighest)?\n\n2. What 3-5 current offerings or activities should AMSAT STOP\noffering or doing (in order of priority, 1 being highest)?\n\n3. What are the top 3 ways that you would prefer AMSAT to\ncommunicate with you as a member (in order of priority) [e.g., email,\nsocial media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, other), website, text, HF\nradio nets, etc.]?\n\n4. If you were going to recruit another amateur radio operator\nas an AMSAT member, what pitch do you think would be most successful\nin making that ham want to join?\n\n5. From your perspective, what would AMSAT ideally look like in\n3 years? What would it be doing? What products and services would it\noffer?\n\nWe will share your answers with the AMSAT Board of Directors and\nmembers of the strategic planning team.\n\nPLEASE EMAIL RESPONSES TO:\[email protected]\nSUBJECT: Reader Poll\n\n\n[ANS thanks AMSAT-NA for the above information]\n\n\n---------------------------------------------------------------------\n\n\nMay/June Issue of The AMSAT Journal Sent to Printer\n\n\nThe May/June 2017 issue of The AMSAT Journal has been sent to the\nprinter and should begin arriving in members’ mailboxes shortly.\n\nIn this issue:\n\n*AMSAT Announcement\n\n*Apogee View\nBarry Baines, WD4ASW\n\n*AMSAT Strategic Planning Update\nBarry Baines, WD4ASW\nKeith Baker, KB1SF/VA3KSF\nClayton Coleman, W5PFG\nPaul Stoetzer, N8HM\nJerry Buxton, N0JY\n\n*AMSAT Journal Strategic Planning Poll\n\n*Hamvention 2017\nJoe Kornowski, KB6IGK\n\n*Setting the ISS UHF Distance Record\nJerry L.
