"content": "OK then, I have a legitimate satellite question. Is Fox 2 going to be a \nlinear bird? See, I have some confusion on this. I could swear I read \nsomewhere that it was yet another flying repeater just like Fox 1 is but \nthen someone here told me I was mistaken. Since you're here Tony, I \nthought I'd ask you since I'm pretty sure you can give me a definitive \nanswer. I mean after all, since we are talking about \" Tech\" as in \ntechnology, I'd be interested to know if there is going to be any \ntechnical challenge to working Fox 2 or if it will just be yet another \nones of Clint's Easysats. Unlike some folks such as Clint, I don't \ndelight in how \"easy\" it is to work a satellite and actually enjoy a \nchallenge like I had when I first got into this part of the hobby and \nput my station together using the homebrew SAEBRTrack tracking system I \nbuilt along with the OR-360 rotators that you told me where to find back \nthen. Thank you btw.... I mean if people enjoy working \"easysats\" with \nan HT and a handheld antenna, that's all well and good. To each their \nown. It's just that I'd like a bit more of a challenge than that. \nUnfortunately I missed out on A0-40 which I understand took a fair \namount of \"tech\" savvy to conquer. AO-7 and FO-29 were fun mixed with a \nbit of challenge though and even AO-51 was pretty cool trying to conquer \nthe S band mode. I'd very much like to start putting my old homebrew \nantennas and rotators back in the air if I feel like it will result in \nsome challenge and a sense of accomplishment and knowing that I did \nsomething that \"not just anyone can do\" instead of \"heck it's just so \neasy\" as Clint likes to point out..... If Fox 2 is a linear bird, I'll \neven put my money where my mouth is and renew my long dormant \nmembership in AMSAT because I will feel that they are moving in a \ndirection that I and many others have interest in. If it's just another \nflying repeater though well..... YAWN....I'm getting sleepy now.\n73,\nMichael, W4HIJ\nOn 2/14/2014 4:04 PM, Anthony Monteiro wrote:\n> Dear Friends,\n>\n> Please use the BB to discuss satellites.\n>\n> Any other communications should take\n> place off of the BB.\n>\n> Thank you!\n> Tony AA2TX\n> ---\n>\n> On 2/14/2014 3:45 PM, Roger Kolakowski wrote:\n>> For all the dissenters...\n>>\n>> What have you done to promote AMSAT and how many people outside of nthe\n>> satellite hobby have you affected?\n>>\n>> I consider the reports of \"missionaries\" to be a promotion of ideas on\n>> how to spread the word.\n>>\n>> If 60,000 doesn't impress ask one of the \"missionary's\" how you can link\n>> to their presentation either via RF or internet and find you own 60,000\n>> followers.\n>>\n>> Roger\n>> WA1KAT\n>>\n>>\n>> On 2/14/2014 12:44 PM, Michael wrote:\n>>> Wow a whole 60,000?
