Besides\nmultiple recording devices deciding not to work, I had to huddle underneath\nthe overhang of the house as it gently rained while holding the Arrow\nAntenna out towards the satellite. In the other hand the IC-W32a, pen and an\nindex card to write (!?) with. Don't ask me about how that was supposed to\nwork. It didn't matter! It was quite a sight to see -- I was glad no one\ncould see me and even more relieved when I went back into the house without\nmy wife having viewed the spectacle (big grin)! But it was a dream that was\nplanted when I got my Novice license when I was 11 years old (1970's). I\ncould have waited a day for the rain to clear but I had already committed to\ndoing it... breaking through the wall of excuses why another day would be\nbetter. Nothing was going to stop the attempt other than severe weather that\nwould have prevented me from hanging that antenna out or a broken handheld!\n\nI worked two good contacts this morning via AO-51. I learned a lot by just\ndoing it (I've read plenty) and it became obvious I needed to make a few\nchanges including getting a recording device to work (!). I'll see if I can\ndo that today or tomorrow.\n\n73,\n\nStephen\nWD5EAE\nhttp://www.wd5eae.org\n\n\n-----Original Message-----\nFrom: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On\nBehalf Of Steve Attfield\nSent: Wednesday, May 02, 2007 1:46 PM\nTo: [email protected]\nSubject: [amsat-bb] Re: Recording of AO-51 02/May/07 02:30 UTC Pass over\nU.S.\n\nrecording it is very important.
