"content": "Peter,\n\nWelcome to the birds. As you'll learn each bird has it's quirks but the easiest to work is probably AO-51. Listen to a few passes first before keying up. This will hive you dome idea of how thing flow on the birds. You'll also get some practice in pointing the antenna & tuning for doppler. \n\nWhen you're ready to transmit, pick a pass earlier in the day, AO-51 tends to get crowded. \n\nI enjoy working sats because it's challenging enough to be fun, but not so much so as to get frustrating. \n\nTrust me, your first QSO will be very satisfying.\n\nGood luck & hope to work you soon.\n\nSent from my iPod\nRick Tejera\nEditor, SACnews\nSaguaro Astronomy Club\nwww.saguaroastro.org\nK7TEJ\n\nOn Nov 21, 2010, at 16:50, Peter Moscatt <[email protected]> wrote:\n\n> Good morning to all,\n> \n> I have recently entered the relms of Saterlite communications and need\n> a breif list of Sats to initially target that are pretty easy to get\n> into that will allow me to cut my teeth on.\n> I have a FT847 and use 2M 70CM antennas (vertical), so I am pretty\n> right to go as far as hardware is concerned.\n> \n> I am using Orbatron as the selected tracking software.\n> \n> Cheers\n> Pete VK4CCV\n> [email protected]\n> _______________________________________________\n> Sent via [email protected].
