Please keep up the good work!!\n\nRegards...Bill - N6GHz\n\n\n\n-----Original Message-----\nFrom: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]]On\nBehalf Of William Leijenaar\nSent: Monday, September 11, 2006 2:20 PM\nTo: [email protected]\nSubject: [amsat-bb] Re: 10m band kibitzing\n\n\nHi AMSATs,\n\nI like to give my comment on the message of N6GHZ.\n\nHe wrote:\n\"I am tried to get 10 metres looked at again by the\nAMSAT team but my comments have gone unanswered. I\nhave also tried to query Peter to get an understanding\nwhy 29 MHz was dropped on P3E but no answer there\neither.\"\n\nAs far as I know there will be a 29MHz receiver on\nP3e.\nMaybe things have changed but at the last designer\nmeeting in Marburg, where I showed my MODE-UV\nprototype it was discussed.\n\nAt that time the 29MHz receiver was a task of the\nFinish group. However this group was very busy with\nother parts of the satellite and 29MHz was on low\npriority. Another problem was the physical space, and\nit was agreed that is should join a small space in the\nMODE-UV box.\n\nAs I had the MODE-UV transponder under my control I\nmanaged to join some PCB units together to make more\nspace for a 29MHz receiver. Finally I even made the\n29MHz receiver unit myself as I had the whole\ntransponder here at home.\n\nThe whole MODE-UV flight-mode transponder included the\n29MHz receiver unit I delivered at AMSAT-DL in May\n2005, as the first flight ready transponder for P3e.\nUnfortunatly the 29MHz I had to take out as the Finish\ngroup was choosen to design it, what I respect fully.\n\nThe transponder included the 29MHz receiver can be\nseen on my webpage at the following link:\nhttp://www.qsl.net/pe1rah/p3e_mode-uv3/p3e_mode-uv3.html\n\nWhat supprizes me is that you tell me that 29MHz is\nnot on P3e... I hope this is a mistake as I still have\nthe receiver here at home for P3e in case the Finish\ngroup can not deliver their 29MHz rx.\n\nUnfortunatly I also didn't hear any sign from AMSAT\nafter I delivered my MODE-UV flight-model. I mentioned\nmany times that I will support in case of MODE-UV\nproblems, as I do it for the world-wide AMSAT\ncommunity in general... like I did with VO-52. This\npromise still stands...\n\nWhat ever will not fly on P3e and is of my design will\nbe available for any other (long lifetime) amateur\nsatellite project that has a good chance to fly and\nwill support world-wide ham community. In case there\nis free satellite space available on an interresting\nOSCAR orbit (AMSAT or none-AMSAT satellite) I might\nsponsor a mode-uv or mode-vu linear transponder of my\nown design.\n\nI also hope some more 23cm uplinks will be available\non satellites. I would love to test my 200W PA on a\nGround Plane antenna, and see how it works on the\namsats (and use this band widely so other none-ham\nusers know ham activity is in this band (and hopefully\nthey disapear soon) :o)\n\nLets make some more sats like VO-52...\nI only need the box, solar panels and a rocket...\nThe radio and antennas I will take care of ;o)\n\n73\nWilliam\n---\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n__________________________________________________\nDo You Yahoo!?\nTired of spam?
