"content": "Contacts through the amateur radio system on the ISS do count as a satellite contact. So, if you make a voice contact via the crossband repater on ISS or via the packet Digi then your contact counts. It is the contact with the ISS crew that does not (as previously stated) count as a contact via an amateur radio satellite.\n \nKenneth - N5VHO\n\n________________________________\n\nFrom: [email protected] on behalf of Alan P. Is it also true that a contact THROUGH the digi does not count? I\ngot a call from a local FD group, and the Q&A list does not explicitly rule\nthat out. Or at least it can be read that way. It looks as if the \"amateur\nradio satellite\" part does knock it out.\n\n\nAlan\nWA4SCA\n\n\nQ. Why doesn't our contact with the International Space Station count for\nthe satellite bonus?\nA. While the ISS is be definition, the purpose of the satellite QSO bonus is\nto complete an Earth to Earth contact via an amateur radio satellite.\n\n\n_______________________________________________\nSent via [email protected].
