I was up until 4am working on trying to figure out \nproblems with the experiment data.\nWe just came to a determination about the switching low to high power mode, \nit is behaving as expected. I will put something out about it soon. I have \ntwo teleconferences this morning.\nI haven't come up with anything exciting worth a news post until today. Do \nyou have something I missed?\n\nThe operational FM mode switching is described on the arissat1 site under \nFAQ ARISSat-1 Signals, \nhttp://www.arissat1.org/v3/index.php?option=com_content&view=category&layout=blog&id=62&Itemid=138\n\nThe think the High Power/Low Power modes have been explained many times and \nplaces. High Power - Everything is on all the time,\nLow Power - Everything is on for about 30 secs and off for 2 minutes\nThere are a number of things that I want to improve on the web site, but \nmanaging things, writing content and learning the web site are getting done \nas fast as I can.\n\nThe bottom line is only a few people are doing many things.\n\n73,\nGould, WA4SXM\n----- Original Message ----- \nFrom: \"PA3GUO\" <[email protected]>\nTo: <[email protected]>\nSent: Thursday, August 11, 2011 8:40 AM\nSubject: [amsat-bb] Any ARISSat-1 news/updates from the project team ?\n\n\n> Just a kind request to the ARISSat-1 team,\n>\n> Via this amsat-bb a lot of early feedback is provided on the satellite.\n> Often new satellites fail shortly after launch, so it is key to collect as\n> much a possible data in these early days. Many people do this already.\n>\n> However, we also have many questions and report observations,\n> (as an example the high/low power mode switching over VK) without\n> any reply from the project team directly. Btw I have to say that on BPSK\n> topics Phil Karn & Douglas Quagliana are really doing a great job in\n> discussing the results and giving feedback (thanks guys - very learnful \n> !).\n>\n> IMHO way to much information is still not made available, or scattered\n> around on various websites, sometimes even in articles of magazines ...\n> Last Twitter post (tweet) was on Aug 3.\n> Last News post to www.arissat1.org was on Aug 5.\n>\n> As an example: I still have no clue on the operational mode switching\n> sequences, like voice... sstv, but also: when will which type of BPSK\n> be transmitted, how long are the transmission sequences, what is\n> the TX off-period.\n>\n> Please don't take this as an offend, I know we are all very busy. But\n> really,\n> if we want to interest new people - we have to step up and provide more\n> and better information about the mission which was announced so widely.\n>\n> From a technical point of view the project seems like a big success; the\n> SDX is working just fine, and we have with a broken (?) antenna still a\n> great uplink capability. Let's celebrate this success and further exploit\n> the momentum that we have now.\n>\n> Would be a nice start to have a daily summary of which parts of the system\n> have been tested, are working, etc. etc.\n>\n> Of course, let me know if I can be of any help !\n> (subject to the US ITAR regulations of course)\n>\n> Henk, PA3GUO\n> The Netherlands\n>\n>\n> _______________________________________________\n> Sent via [email protected].
