"content": "\n \n\n First call for ARISSat-1 audio recordings\n\n If you haven't already heard about it, ARISSat-1 will be activated \nwhile still inside the International Space Station. The transmissions \nare scheduled to begin around Monday 11 April 2011 at 14:30 UTC \nand continue until 10:30 UTC on 13 April 2011. \n\n The satellite will be running off of the battery, so the transmissions \nwill be only 40-60 second long. There will be a delay of about two \nminutes between transmissions. That is, about 40-60 seconds ON, \nthen about two minutes OFF (silence).\n\n If you are able to make an audio recording of the signals from \nARISSat-1, I would be very interested in obtaining a copy of your\nrecording. I would be most interested in recordings of the CW and \nBPSK signals, but if are able to record the voice and SSTV signals \nI would be interested in those too.\n\n If you can make an SDR recordings ( I and Q ) with a Funcube \ndongle, FlexRadio, or SDR-IQ, record at the highest rate that your \nhardware and software supports. If you are making a regular audio \nrecording, set the sampling rate to the \"highest quality.\" If you can \nchoose sample sizes, for example between 8-bit and 16-bit samples, \nchoose the largest size.\n\n If you get any recordings with any of the signals from ARISSat, \nI would be very interested in obtaining a copy even if the recording \nis huge.\n\n Save your recordings as .WAV files. Don't use MP3 format and \ndon't convert the recordings into MP3 recordings. Leave the \nrecordings as big huge .WAV files.\n\n If you successfully record ARISSat-1's signals, please contact me\nfor details on how to get the recording to me.\n\nDouglas KA2UPW/5\n\n\n\n",
