The\nevent is scheduled to begin at approximately 16:10 UTC. The duration of the\ncontact is approximately 9 minutes and 30 seconds. The contact will be\ndirect between NA1SS and W6FOG. The contact should be audible over the\nstate of Arizona and adjacent areas. Interested parties are invited to\nlisten in on the 145.80 MHz downlink. The contact is expected to be\nconducted in English.\n\n\n\nThere are two non-profit organizations based in Quartzsite, Arizona,\ncoordinating this ARISS contact. The World Genesis Foundation operates with\na mission to \"leave no child without hope for the future.\" Quartzsite in\nMotion is a public/private partnership with the town of Quartzsite that\noperates to \"promote health, education and community' in Quartzsite and\nsurrounding towns. Students participating in the event come from six small\nschools in five town towns in rural western Arizona.\n\nThe coordinating organizations have provided training and support materials\nto administrators and teachers at every participating school. The contact\nis part of a year-long program designed to encourage students to study and\npursue work in science, technology, engineering and math.\n\n\n\n\n\nParticipants will ask as many of the following questions as time allows:\n\n\n\n1. What is the most unusual thing you have seen in space?\n\n2. Did you want to be an astronaut as a kid?\n\n3. What is it like with no gravity?\n\n4. Can a person be in space too long?\n\n5. What are your favorite science experiments that you have been a part of\n\n in space?\n\n6. What do you do when you are not in space?\n\n7. What kinds of hazards are you exposed to in space?\n\n8. How has Robotics played a role with the ISS?\n\n9. Can you share a story that sticks out in your mind since becoming an\n\n astronaut?\n\n10. Are you able to grow plants in the ISS?\n\n11. Has your understanding of the universe changed since seeing it from\n\n space?\n\n12. What kind of games or things do you do for entertainment there?\n\n13. What are the effects of weightlessness on your body or mental state?\n\n14. What has been one thing you have learned from your studies there that\n\n surprised you?\n\n15. Is there one thing that your training has not prepared you for?\n\n16. What have been your missions outside the Space Station?\n\n17. Have you used 3-D printing on the ISS?\n\n18. What's your advice to young people dreaming of becoming involved in\n\n NASA's space program?\n\n\n\n\n\nPLEASE CHECK THE FOLLOWING FOR MORE INFORMATION ON ARISS UPDATES:\n\n\n\n Visit ARISS on Facebook. In the United States,\nsponsors are the Radio Amateur Satellite Corporation (AMSAT), the American\nRadio Relay League (ARRL), the Center for the Advancement of Science in\nSpace (CASIS) and National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). The\nprimary goal of ARISS is to promote exploration of science, technology,\nengineering, and mathematics (STEM) topics by organizing scheduled contacts\nvia amateur radio between crew members aboard the ISS and students in\nclassrooms or informal education venues. With the help of experienced\namateur radio volunteers, ISS crews speak directly with large audiences in\na variety of public forums. Before and during these radio contacts,\nstudents, teachers, parents, and communities learn about space, space\ntechnologies, and amateur radio.
