    "content": "I don't believe that this web-page has been noted on amsat-bb\n\nhttp://codec2.org/\n\nBesides pointing out some serious problems with using the proprietary\ncodec that is currently built into DStar, it has  the great idea of\nhacking out the digital voice daughterboard in an ICOM DSTAR radio and\nplopping in a replacement that implements a free codec.\n\nI wonder how complicated it would be to integrate a digital repeater a\nSDX linear transponder bandpass to operate as a suitable digital voice\nchannel or two.
