"content": "I don't know exactly your question, but I assume you have a G-5500\ncontroller, and one Elevation and one G-1000, and you would like to\ncontrol both from the G-5500 control box.\n\nThe G-1000 DXA is probably (nearly certainly) a DC motor, while that\ncontrol box expects and AC motor so outputs AC to the motor.\n\nAll is not lost. Assuming the G-1000 has a potentiometer feedback, you\ncould probably get the control box to turn on some relays with AC\ncoils, which in turn would switch on a DC supply with forward or\nreverse, and you can keep the same feedback. Another option may be to\nopen the control box, and disconnect the AC for azimuth, and try\nconnect to a separate DC supply.\n\nThe manuals for the controllers are available on line. If you need me\nto draw a diagram I can do so. I have used a DC actuator for elevation\nwhich is a similar set up to your DC motor for azimuth.\n\nOn 29/07/2015, Tony <[email protected]> wrote:\n> All:\n>\n> I have an old Yaesu G-500A elevation rotator and a refurbished Yaesu\n> G-1000 DXA azimuth rotator that I'd like to use with a G-5500 controller.\n>\n> I suspect the controller will work with the G-500A right out of the box,\n> but I don't know about the G-1000 DXA.\n>\n> Any ideas?\n>\n> Tony\n> _______________________________________________\n> Sent via [email protected].
