Several years ago, on the first cruise I took out of Galveston, TX, I followed (exactly) the advice from Allen, N5AFV, on his various web articles. You can get a good overview here and links to more details as well:\nhttp://www.qsl.net/n5afv/cruise.html\n\nAllen has been there and done that and I had nothing but success in following his recommendations. I had the license and the ship's permission--no problem. I have another cruise planned April 11-17 (listen for me on AO-51), but remember my first cruise \"experience\" like it was yesterday:\n\nEL60\n\n\n\n\n\n\n27.08.2007\n1358\nN5ZNL\n\n27.08.2007\n1358\nN5AFU\n\n27.08.2007\n1359\nW7JPI\n\n27.08.2007\n1400\nW0SAT\n\n27.08.2007\n1402\nXE1KW\n\n\nEL51 \n\n \n \n\n28.08.2007\n1320\nN5AFV\n\n28.08.2007\n1321\nN3YZ\n\n EL45\n \n \n\n29.08.2007\n1418\nWA2EHL\n\n29.08.2007\n1419\nW7JPI\n\n29.08.2007\n1419\nW0SAT\n\n29.08.2007\n1420\nN7JK\n\n29.08.2007\n1420\nKE5CWC\n\n29.08.2007\n1421\nXE1KW\n\n29.08.2007\n1422\nN5ZNL\n\n\n\nI used an FT-51R and an AL-800 antenna.
