The different IDs are assigned to the various modes. The most common mode now is PKT mode which utilizes RS0ISS-4. Another mode is APRS mode which is RS0ISS-4. During 9600 baud ops, the ID was RS0ISS-5. ARISS is the alias assigned to all modes so you don't have to constantly change.\n\nKenneth - N5VHO\n\n-----Original Message-----\nFrom: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Roger Kolakowski\nSent: Friday, February 06, 2009 10:21 AM\nTo: Harry Strahlendorf; [email protected]\nSubject: [amsat-bb] Re: ISS Packet Question\n\nAt one time I thought the Path indicated the bands that were in use,\nsometimes split frequency, sometimes in one band and out the other...\n\nPerhaps Ken can confirm that...\n\nRoger\nWA1KAT\n\n----- Original Message -----\nFrom: \"Harry Strahlendorf\" <[email protected]>\nTo: <[email protected]>\nSent: Friday, February 06, 2009 7:03 AM\nSubject: [amsat-bb] ISS Packet Question\n\n\n> Hi Gang,\n>\n>\n>\n> Does anyone know why the Unproto Path seems to change from day to day?\nLast\n> Friday evening it was \"RS0ISS-3.\" Then a few days later it was\n\"RS0ISS-4.\"\n> I have been advised to simply enter \"ARISS\" in my D-700 path statement and\nI\n> should be okay, but I have not made an APRS contact since doing so.
