    "content": "Keith:\nMy 2 pence worth is that the best way to do these things is with an \nexternal sequencer.\nThe ARRL Handbook has a simple one, plus you can get them ready-made from \nDB6NT, Advanced Receiver Research, and I think W1GHZ sells some on eBay \nfrom time to time.\nThe idea:  you PTT the sequencer (footswitch or equivalent) and the \nsequencer unkeys the preamp, keys the amp, and then keys the rig, in that \norder.
