Should we ever get another HEO like AO-40 (sobsob) the 1.2ghz module will be wanted. Keep an eye out for one. Depending on where you live there can be some terrestrial L band activity. The stock IC-910H is definitely a keeper and the value will always be there. My 910 works very effectively with Satpc-32. \n\ngood luck \n\n73 Bob W7LRD \n\n\n\n----- Original Message -----\n\n\nFrom: \"chuck allen\" <[email protected]> \nTo: [email protected] \nSent: Thursday, June 14, 2012 5:50:34 AM \nSubject: [amsat-bb] IC-910H options ? \n\nHello folks. \n\nI'm totally new to sat operation and VHF/UHF operating (kind of bored with HF). \n \nSince I already had a very nice HF and 6 meter rig, after a bit of research on the candidate rigs in my price range (the IC-9100 would have been nice except for the $$) I recently purchased an ICOM IC-910H. \nThe used market for the IC-910H rigs is not exactly cheap at that. The Unit is a very late model in new condition which is why I made a quick decision and hit 'buy'. \n\nIt is a 'stock' unit with no optional modules; no DSP, no narrow cw filters, no 1.2 GHz module. \nThere doesn't look to be much satellite activity at 1.2 GHz but I'm questioning my purchase now due to the lack of options and my lack of experience. \n \n\nSo is the stock unit going to be a problem in working the sats (i'm interested in working FM, SSB, and CW ... perhaps later digital)? \n\n\nThanks for any advice? \nchuck \nAF4XK \n_______________________________________________ \nSent via [email protected].
