Now that the foliage is gone\nhere in Upstate New York, it is pretty amazing (yet again) how low on\na pass I can hear. It reminds me of the US Government's Radio Manuals\nthat you are supposed to learn from while serving in the Military. I\nrecall a manual pertaining to VHF that compared types of foliage, and\nthe expected outcome if you transmitted in that vicinity.( The phrase,\n\"Jungle-No good\" comes to mind)\n\nAnyway...now that the leaves are gone it's pretty amazing how much\nbetter I can hear. Hey...who needs a preamp?\n\nJohn KB2HSH\n\n-- \n_______________________________\n\n\nJohn Marranca, Jr\nPBX Technician/Shop Steward CWA Local 1122\nBN Systems, Inc\nOrchard Park, NY\n(716)972-2006\n",
