    "content": "Hi Derrick,\n\nFirst problem is with SDR#.\nWay back in 2017, I wrote a paper on how to set up SDR#, VB-Cable, and \nFoxTelem with an RTL-SDR dongle.\nIt is in the September/October 2017 issue available here. \nhttps://launch.amsat.org/The-AMSAT-Journal-2017.\n\n*1.*Note the settings for SDR# are: Radio: NFM, Filter: Blackman Harris \n7, Bandwidth: 16000, Order: 500, Snap to grid: ticked, Step Size: 2.5 \nKHz, Audio Tab: Sample rate 48000 sample /sec (preset), Input: [MME] \nMicrosoft Sound (Mapper) (preset), *Output: [MME] CABLE Input* *(VB \nAudio Virtual C, *Note: this output setting is required to pipe \ndemodulated signal to the decoder in the next section of this document. \nLatency (ms): 100, Unity Gain: unticked, Filter Audio: unticked.\n\n\nAs JoAnnesays, you will need VB-Cable and Soundmodem. Soundmodem decodes \nbetter than AGWPE and Direwolf is pretty good as well. QTMM will work \nalso but you need VB-Cable for any of the decoders.\n\nNext problem: Computer Noise. Once you have SDR# running, check the \nnoise floor on the SDR# spectrum display. If it is not at the bottom of \nthe display, then you need to separate the dongle and laptop via a long \nUSB cable.\n\nNext problem: The RTL-SDR receiver is not very sensitive and you will \nneed a gain antenna (3 Element yagi or similar) to receive much. A 1 M \ndipole is too short. See: https://www.work-sat.com/antennas.html for \nsome antenna ideas. You may also need a preamp.\n\nFinally, unless there is some ISS packet activity in your region, you \nmay not find many packets. When I have been listening in New Zealand, I \nonly hear about 1 packet per pass.
