"content": "\nI'm trying to improve on my number of successful satellite QSO's (at the\nmoment: 3) and because I'm quite good at forgetting a callsign in the heat\nof the moment I am trying to build a working setup to record FM QSO's.\n\nThe setup with a splitter from my HT to the line-in of a mp3 device does\nrecord something but it's still distorted. I will try on the FT-857 again\nbut that's a bit heavy for satellite contacts. It can give more output\npower than the default 5W (.. if the specs are to be believed) of the HT\nwhich may improve the chance of actually getting across.\n\nI noticed (again) that there seems to be a fixed format in action for\nexchanging callsign / signal report / locator. But I'm not sure of the\nright order. Can someone explain this? I haven't seen this mentioned on\namsat-bb.\n\nMy latest recording where I heard this type of exchange twice is linked\nfrom http://idefix.net/~koos/newsitem.cgi/1435521672\n\n Koos\n\n-- \nKoos van den Hout, PGP keyid DSS/1024 0xF0D7C263 via keyservers\[email protected]\n Weather maps from free sources at\nhttp://idefix.net/ http://weather.idefix.net/\n",
