"content": "Jerry,\r\n\r\n\r\nFor recording, common devices and techniques include:\r\n>(1) Digital handheld recorder, for example, a Sony ICD-PX820 with cable\r\n>and Y-adapter connected to the headphone jack (this is what I use)\r\n>(2) Smartphone\r\n>(3) Audio recording application on a personal computer\r\n>(4) Built-in recorder on a Software Defined Radio (SDR) application like\r\n>HDSDR, SDR#, or SDR-Console, either audio or IQ recording\r\n>\r\n>For logging, common approaches are:\r\n>(1) Computer logging program, for example, Amateur Contact Log (or\r\n>ACLog), see www.n3fjp.com (this is what I use). ACLog supports uploading\r\n>to LoTW. See the LoTW help page on the n3fjp.com site.\r\n>(2) Paper log, then transcribing it directly into LoTW on the ARRL\r\n>website. \r\n>\r\n>Getting LoTW setup isn’t trivial, but the rewards for doing so are\r\n>significant. For example, getting confirmation of a QSO in a few hours\r\n>(sometimes less) vs. a week or more to trade QSL cards and then having\r\n>those cards checked at a hamfest.\r\n>\r\n>Hope this helps.\r\n>\r\n>73, Steve N9IP\r\n>--\r\n>Steve Belter, [email protected]\r\n>\r\n>\r\n>\r\n>On 8/13/16, 2:33 PM, \"AMSAT-BB on behalf of Gerald Payton\"\r\n><[email protected] on behalf of [email protected]> wrote:\r\n>\r\n>>In studying videos on the internet and reading emails on the BB, I have\r\n>>noticed a frequent mention of \"recording\" passes, and eventually\r\n>>\"uploading to LoTW.\"\r\n>>\r\n>>\r\n>>My questions are: What is the most common used way of audio recording:\r\n>>a digital handheld recorder or computer software of some kind?
