    "content": "\n                                                                                                                                         \n\n                                                                              \n\n \n\nARISS News Release                                                                                                   No. 21-01\n\nDaveJordan, AA4KN \n\nARISS PR\n\[email protected]\n\n                                                             FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE\n\n \n\n7 US Schools Moved Forward in ARISSSelection Process\n\n \n\nJanuary7, 2021 - Amateur Radio on the International Space Station (ARISS) is pleasedto announce the schools/host organizations selected for the July-December 2021 contact window.A total of 7 of the submittedproposals during the recent proposal window have been accepted to move forwardin the processes of planning to host a scheduled amateur radio contact withcrew on the ISS. The primary goal of the ARISS program is to engage youngpeople in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM) activitiesand raise their awareness of space communications, radio communications, spaceexploration, and related areas of study and career possibilities. \n\n \n\nTheARISS program anticipates that NASA will be able to provide schedulingopportunities for the 7 UShost organizations during the Julythrough December 2021 time period. They are now at work completing anacceptable equipment plan that demonstrates their ability to execute the hamradio contact. The primary goal of ARISS is to promoteexploration of science, technology, engineering, the arts, and mathematicstopics by organizing scheduled contacts via amateur radio between crew membersaboard the ISS and students.
