The primary goal of the ARISS program is to engage youngpeople in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM) activitiesand raise their awareness of space communications, radio communications, spaceexploration, and related areas of study and career possibilities. \n\n \n\nTheARISS program anticipates that NASA will be able to provide schedulingopportunities for the 7 UShost organizations during the Julythrough December 2021 time period. They are now at work completing anacceptable equipment plan that demonstrates their ability to execute the hamradio contact. Once their equipment plan is approved by the ARISS Technical Mentors, the final selected schools/organizations will be scheduled as theiravailability and flexibility match up with the scheduling opportunities offeredby NASA. \n\n \n\n \n\n| \nOrganization\n | \nLocation\n |\n| \nMonroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt \n | \nNashville, TN\n |\n| \nTarwater Elementary\n | \nChandler, AZ\n |\n| \nMuseum of Science & Technology\n | \nSyracuse , NY\n |\n| | |\n| \nSpaceKids Global and Girl Scouts of Citrus\n | \nWinter Park, FL\n |\n| \nCivil Air Patrol – Illinois Wing\n | \nSt Charles, IL\n |\n| \nChildren’s National Hospital\n | \nWashington, DC\n |\n| \nSavannah River Academy\n | \nGrovetown, GA\n |\n\n\n \n\n \n\n \n\nARISS –Celebrating 20 Years of Continuous Amateur Radio Operations on the ISS\n\n \n\nAbout ARISS:\n\nAmateur Radio on the InternationalSpace Station (ARISS) is a cooperative venture of international amateur radiosocieties and the space agencies that support the International Space Station(ISS). In the United States, sponsorsare the Radio Amateur Satellite Corporation (AMSAT), the American Radio RelayLeague (ARRL), the ISS National Lab-Space Station Explorers, and NASA’s SpaceCommunications and Navigation program. The primary goal of ARISS is to promoteexploration of science, technology, engineering, the arts, and mathematicstopics by organizing scheduled contacts via amateur radio between crew membersaboard the ISS and students. Before and during these radio contacts, students, educators, parents, and communities learn about space, space technologies, andamateur radio.
