"content": "Hi all\nI just bought these two antennas and I want to use them without the \nphaser for circular polarization.\n\nI want to use a switch for H and V in the mast, the idea is to use it \nfor terrestrial & satellite with vertical rotor.\n\nI also wanted to know if routing the two coaxial cables along the boom \nuntil the horizontal crossbeam can affect the radiation diagram etc.\n\nI have consulted with the guys from M2 and they advise to route the \ncoaxial cables towards the end of the boom and leave them hanging, but \nthat makes the installation very complicated and will cause the boom to \ngo awry.\n\nThey also tell me about the possibility that VSWR does not match in UHF \ndue to the phasing cables.\n\nHave any of you made similar changes with M2 antennas?\n\nThis is the email exchanged with them\n\n\nHello Jose,\n\nIf you route the feedlines down the boom, the gain, pattern and VSWR \nwill be degraded.  No metal can run parallel to the elements.  We \nrecommend our L-brace kit, http://www.m2inc.com/FGLBKAM so that your \ncoax is not hanging.  One L-brace kit is required per antenna.\n\nAdditionally, if you remove all of the phasing cables, the VSWR may not \nmatch the original settings (especially for 70cm).  The antenna elements \nare tuned specifically to counteract any interaction with the phasing \ncables.  You may (or may not) be able to achieve a reasonable match when \nconverted to V/H linear polarity.  We have not done any \nengineering/testing in this configuration.\n\nRegards,\n*/Robert Brown, KR7O/*\nMarketing and Sales\n\n\n73 Luis\nEC4TR\n-- \nhttps://www.qrz.com/db/ec4tr https://www.facebook.com/ECfourTR \nhttps://twitter.com/EC4TR?lang=es\n",
