    "content": "I had not worked any satellite mobile for a good while. All the post\nabout mobile operation got me to thinking. So I got the 19 inch wipe\nout and connected it to the 706 mk2g and tuned the D-700 to the\nuplink and away I went down the road. I waited till I heard the bird\nsolid before calling. Heard myself right off. Worked somebody in EL97\nI believe it was. I did not have a pencil and paper and could not\nhave logged it while driving anyway. The Icom has a built in preamp\nwhich I found necessary to hear the bird solid. I was using a Larsen\n2/70 duel band antenna for the uplink.
