If you had done your \nhomework, you would know that it was the USAF that put up many of the \nearliest Amateur Radio Satellites, I don't see Canada putting up any money \nto support space exploration. Your right, this BB isn't moderated so all \ndissenting views can be expressed.\n\nGet a life dude!\nRegards, DE K7ZT\nJoe Westbrook, MSgt., USAF Retired\n\n\n\n----- Original Message ----- \nFrom: \"Luc Leblanc\" <[email protected]>\nTo: <[email protected]>\nSent: Friday, February 16, 2007 5:13 AM\nSubject: [amsat-bb] Re: ... This mean it is \n> not\n> restricted to any subjects.\n>\n> As my first message regarding AO-51 use by US military forces was not \n> intended\n> for this one at least to show up any conspiracy but conflicting \n> utilization of\n> an IARU amateur service allocated satellite.\n>\n> Irresponsible and uncontrolled operations on AO-51 regarding IARU is all \n> what's\n> my post is about. It is not related to anything else and the funding \n> issues and\n> the benefits from volunteers are not the purpose of my post.\n>\n> Making amateurs radio satellite available to military services is a \n> dangerous\n> precedent! Is an Iranian korean chinese military satellite using 145.820 \n> and\n> build by cadets will be endorse by AMSAT-NA? Its time Misses Leber to\n> act...again lightly {uprorious laughter ensues} :(\n>\n> In a way to help some (both gender here...) {uprorious laughter ensues} \n> to\n> remain focused on the subject or the task Here is an excerpt of the IARU\n> INFORMATION FOR DEVELOPERS OF SATELLITES\n> PLANNING TO USE FREQUENCY BANDS ALLOCATED TO\n> THE AMATEUR-SATELLITE SERVICE section VIII. REVIEW MISSION PLANS item B\n>\n> B. Alternatives to the amateur-satellite service\n>\n> Alternatives to the amateur-satellite service exist in the many satellite\n> services for which\n> allocations are provided in the Radio Regulations. See Annex IV for a \n> complete\n> list of\n> services, including satellite services, to which frequencies are \n> allocated.\n> For missions not fitting into one of the existing services, particularly \n> for\n> short term\n> research or school projects, experimental stations may be licensed by\n> administrations.\n> See: Article 27 of the Radio Regulations. Experimental stations may be \n> assigned\n> on\n> any frequency on a secondary basis.\n> NOTE: Experimental stations authorized by one administration are not \n> normally\n> permitted to communicate with experimental stations authorized by another.\n> Special\n> international arrangements are required. [See: RR 27.1.]\n> If experimental licensing is proposed using frequencies in an \n> amateur-satellite\n> service\n> allocation, then the IARU Satellite Advisor may be able to help guide your\n> frequency\n> planning so as to minimise the probability of interference to and from \n> licensed\n> amateur satellite\n> service stations. Administrations normally consider experimental stations\n> assecondary\n> to all other licensed stations. So, frequency coordination is particularly\n> important for assuring mission success.\n>\n> NOTE: When ready to ask for IARU frequency coordination, please, be sure \n> to\n> use the latest frequency coordination request form! The form changes from \n> time\n> to time.\n>\n> I know stupidity has no sex {uprorious laughter ensues} I like this one\n> probably my next signature comment, but the more cubes we put in spaces \n> the\n> more we open our spectrum to non amateur operations.\n>\n> Get a cheap satellite in the space on the HAM satellite band.
