If you\nonly configure one radio with SatPC32, it uses the \"SPLIT\" fuction of\nthe FT8x7 to automatically set both the RX and TX frequencies for\ndoppler on VFOs A & B.\n\nRemember that a critical factor for operating on the linear birds is\ncalibrating your particular radio for the uplink / downlink offset.\nThis is really easy with two radios (since you can hear your own\ndownlink) but with a single radio it's much more difficult. Out of\nthe box, my twin FT-817's were about 2 kHz off with the default\nfrequency offsets in SatPC32. Before ARISSat, try practicing on VO-52\nor AO-7 with their 70cm uplinks and 2m downlinks -- they're often not\ncrowded at all, and it will be good to get your rig close in\ncalibration with the help of some others on the air there.\n\n73 de Dave KB5WIA / CM88\n\nOn Thu, Feb 10, 2011 at 11:33 AM, Ron Overdrive\n<[email protected]> wrote:\n> Question I have is, is it possible to use SatPC32 to control 1 FT-817 either\n> in split frequency or in each VFO (ie switching between VFO A & B) with the\n> Doppler shift corrections?
