I have a TH-D7 so I can use the 817 \nfor receiving? \n\nI would like to try my hand at AO-7, but I think perhaps 5 watts may \nstruggle there too.. my biggest problem is there is no way to install \nantenna's at my home due to garden size, so am trying to be good at portable \nops.. I have an arrow antenna and a separate 9 ele 70cms and 4 ele on two \nmounted on a manual camera tripod.. I do have an amp/preamp for 2, but i \nfind that ao16 is very hard to track due to it spinning so need to twist the \nantenna!\n\nAnyway, sorry to waffle.. I'll keep at it..\n\nThanks,\n\nChris - M0DQO\n \n\n\n-----Original Message-----\nFrom: \"Mark L. Just now, I heard many VHF \ntelephones from South/Central America/Caribbean coming through the bird :)\n\n73,\n\nMark N8MH\n\nAt 01:00 PM 3/30/2008 -0700, you wrote:\n>Date: Sun, 30 Mar 2008 18:42:33 +0100\n>From: \"Chris Bloy\" <[email protected]>\n>Subject: [amsat-bb] FT-817 use on AO16\n>To: <[email protected]>\n>Message-ID: <[email protected]>\n>Content-Type: text/plain; charset=\"Windows-1252\"\n>\n>Hi all\n>\n>Has anyone used an FT-817 on AO-16?\n>\n>I am having issues getting into the repeater, I think partly due to the\n>amount of stations trying to access!
