"content": "I've been busy doing \"other things\", but have just seen the email messages\nabout the V(USB)/U(FM) Mode.\n\nSo, gave it a go just now on the 09:40 UTC, 3rd November pass as AO-51 went\njust a little West of New Zealand.\n\nI was able to work VK2ZAZ, Geff, in New South Wales, Australia, from here in\nWellington, New Zealand.\n\nVery cool giving it a go. Thanks to the AO-51 ops.\n\nI used Nova to watch the pass and display the rotator settings, which I was\nchanging manually. (Must get around to building the interface for that :-)\n\nUsed Ham Radio Delux to Doppler-tune my Kenwood TS-2000. Set to also support\nmanual, so I could adjust the transmit a little to keep my pitch sounding\nOK.\n\nAs others have noted, including the message below, some very extreme level\nchanges in the receive signal.\n\nAt times, fully quieting the FM receive, but then dipping right away to no\ncopy, and then fading back again.\n\nThis is not something I have heard when AO-51 is in the more normal FM/FM\nmode.\n\nRegards,\nJim, ZL1TYF.\n\n> -----Original Message-----\n> From: [email protected] \n> [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Isao SEKI\n> Sent: Thursday, 2 November 2006 10:33 p.m.\n> To: [email protected]\n> Cc: Isao SEKI\n> Subject: [amsat-bb] Re: AO-51 SSB/FM mode\n> \n> Fades suddenly comes and I feel that modulation\n> of FM down signal is shallow.\n> \n> Isao / JM1WBB\n> \n> _______________________________________________\n> Sent via [email protected].
