We had 4-5 other hams there with us from the Brazos \nValley Amateur Radio Club. I'd like to thank everyone on the AO-27 pass \nthat we worked mid afternoon. Unfortunately it was the first pass after \nthe ARISS contact and was 2.5 hours after the contact so all the kids \nwere gone. But Allen and I were up on the roof of the observatory (an \nobservation deck) and had a bunch of adults waiting for the satellite \naos and when they heard it start up they were thrilled. It was more fun \nwhen we started making contacts. Allen was about 20 feet away from me \nand we both had people listening in. Allen made about 5 contacts and I \nmade 3 or 4 (keep in mind, I have not worked a satellite in over a year \nbut it is like riding a bicycle, you never forget).\n\n73...bruce\n\n-- \n\nBruce Paige, KK5DO\n\nAMSAT Director Contests and Awards\n\nARRL Awards Manager (WAS, 5BWAS, VUCC), VE\n\nHouston AMSAT Net - Wed 0100z on Echolink - Conference *AMSAT*\nAlso live streaming MP3 at http://www.amsatnet.com\nPodcast at http://www.amsatnet.com/podcast.xml or iTunes\n\nLatest satellite news on the ARRL Audio News\nhttp://www.arrl.org\n\nAMSAT on Twitter http://www.twitter.com/amsat\n\n", "attachments": [] }
