"content": "Some may think it is experimental but I personally find it very\ndisruptive to use certain digital modes on satellites. It is more\ndisturbing when the stations performing these \"experiments\" fail to\nminimize their station ERP to a reasonable level.\n\nTonight on FO-29 I witnessed first hand how disruptive it is when a\nstation decides to experiment with MSK144 while others are trying to\nuse the shared transponder resource.\n\nSome of these modes are 100% duty cycle for periods, then switch off,\nand back on again in a sequence. This doesn't seem very compatible\nwith your typical satellite transponder.\n\nFor the life of me I cannot figure out why someone would even think\nabout attempting these modes on AO-7 when the transponder's more\nsensitive nature is common knowledge.\n\n73\nClayton\nW5PFG\n",
