"content": "Hi all\n\nFO-29 excellent downlink signals over ZL on the 0007 UT pass today (5w for\nS9 sig down).\nNot long out of eclipse at AOS but no problem entire pass.\n\nAlan\nZL2BX\n\n-----Original Message-----\nFrom: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On\nBehalf Of SV1BSX\nSent: Friday, 25 July 2008 23:06\nTo: [email protected]\nCc: [email protected]\nSubject: [amsat-bb] FO-29 is back again !\n\n Hello all,\n\n after Robert-G8ATE's report on Amsat-BB, this evening I tried together with\nmy friend\nDimitris, SW1JGW, a test on FO-29.\n\n Well, yes indeed, the Satellite is active again ! Just after the AOS we\nheard clear\nthe Beacon, and then I had a nice QSO with SW1JGW (21:36Z) ! After that I\nchanged\nmy frequency a bit lower and I had a 2nd QSO with DL6HP (21:38 Z).\n\n Both, Dimitris and I, we were QRP ! 5 Watts for Uplink were enough for\nexcellent return\nsignals on Downlink. By using QRP we tried to avoid any overloading of the\nbird.\n\n The Satellite was really Booming, always 55 - 59 with \"crystal audio\". \nHowever, at 21:38 my return-signal rapidly decreased, but even much lower it\nwas easily readable.\nAfter that I interrupted my TX and I return onto Beacon frequency. Q5 now,\nbut still \"clear\" !\n\n Later I noticed that on my tracking software, precisely at this time the\nSatellite came on a new Eclipse ! \nSo, probably the old-Batteries are not strong enough in order to support the\nsame Downlink-power \nin eclipse, like that on Sunlight. Also I observed some FMing at this point\nand I lost the\nsignal before the LOS, but on this direction I have not \"clear horizon\" (but\nHigh buildings), \nso I can't say with accuracy if the Satellite was still \"ON\" or not. Sorry !\n\nAnyway, the FO-29 is back again ! Great news !\n\nCU on FO-29 !\n\n73 de Mak, SV1BSX\n\n\n\n\nEmail: sv1bsx \"AT\" yahoo .gr\nURL : http://sv1bsx.50webs.com\n_______________________________________________\nSent via [email protected].
