    "content": "Steve,\nThe mailing list is provided to candidates, email addresses are not.\nEveryone has to determine *on their own* whether or not the correlation of\nthe mailing list to email addresses scraped out of QRZ to be legitimate.\nThe mailing is provided by the bylaws of AMSAT as per the election process,\nand has been for years!\nIf that needs to be changed, bring it up in a formal manner.  A list of\nwhatever you are agreeing to when joining AMSAT should be made available to\nthe membership. Then if an opt-out process is adopted, people should be\nable to opt-out. It will save postage.
