This \nshould fit all standard tripods. To switch polarization using a tripod, you \nwill need to have a tripod that not only enables you to move the antenna (or \ncamera) forward and backward (up/down) as most tripods do, but you will also \nneed one that pivots vertically/horizontally. Not all camera tripods do \nthis - it will depend on what type you have.\n\n> Not going to worry about logging until I get\n> comfortable enough receiving.\n\nYou should look into using a recorder (your phone might even have one!). \nEven for the experienced handheld beam user it is a challenge to log while \ndoing a pass. Just set your phone or recorder near you, and then you can go \nback after the pass and log. No hassle whatsoever.\n\n73!\n\nZack\nKD8KSN\n\n-----Original Message----- \nFrom: John\nSent: Friday, April 29, 2011 9:52 AM\nTo: [email protected]\nSubject: [amsat-bb] Hand Help Portable operation\n\nOK, I finally received the ARROW satellite antenna. I believe I have all\nnecessary to make AO-51 contacts (any maybe SO-50) while I am camping in\nthe Motorhome. I have a Yaesu FT-470 with Speaker Mic, the Arrow antenna\nand I approprated the camera tri-pod from my bride. Not going to worry\nabout logging until I get comfortable enough receiving.\n\nI seem to remember someone mentioning they used the tripod top plate to\nchange polarity. How was that done? Do I need to poke a hole thru my New\nArrow to attach it to the tripod? Anyone out there BTDT (been there,\ndone that)?\n\nThanks\n\nNS1Z / EL99bf\nJohn Wilcox\nSilver Springs, FL\n\n_______________________________________________\nSent via [email protected].
