But a friend who has the same setup as I do (Flex 6600M and Q5 transverters) said that all a preamp does with the Q5’s is overload the front end, as they are already very hot RX’s. But I want them operational. When I was last into sats (1990’s and early 2000’s), I had Landwehr mast mount preamps, but sold them when I got out of the mode. Should have kept them. I’ll see how I do without preamps first. So far (since antennas went up Monday) so good, I’m hearing everything I try for.\n\n73 de Charlie KB8CR\n\n> On Aug 4, 2023, at 7:43 PM, Gary via AMSAT-BB <[email protected]> wrote:\n> \n> Sad, they used to be the go-to pre-amp. Does anyone know if there is some trick to release some sort of latch or something so I can get inside and add choke and/or capacitor? Or should I just pull it off more \"enthusiastically\"?\n>> \n>> de KM1P Joe\n>> \n>> -----------------------------------------------------------\n>> \n>> Sent via AMSAT-BB(a)amsat.org.
