"content": "Hi Steve,\n\nI don't have any experience with rotors, but a car repair shop is going to \ncharge you an arm and a leg for something you can probably do yourself.\n\nGo to AutoZone and pickup a can of heavy engine degreaser (the red can w/ \norange lid is the good stuff). You can also pickup a can of wheel bearing \ngrease (should say that on the can), and use that to repack the bearing. If \nyou don't see the grease just ask one of the employees and show them what \nyou are using it on. You can also get this stuff at any store that carries \nauto supplies.\n\nHope that helps...\n\n73!\n\nZack\nKD8KSN\n\n-----Original Message----- \nFrom: Stephen E. The thrust bearing turns, but requires a lot of force.\n\nI disassembled the thrust bearing to find that the grease is very sticky \n(think candy apple sticky), and not lubricative (if that is a word).\n\nShould I take it to an auto repair shop and ask them to degrease and then \nlubricate similar to repacking a wheel bearing?\n\nWhat kind of grease should be used?\n\nThanks and 73, Steve N9IP\n--\nSteve Belter\n\n\n\n_______________________________________________\nSent via [email protected].
