ARISS is thegroup that puts together special amateur radio contacts between students aroundthe globe and crew members with ham radio licenses on the International Space Station (ISS). \n\n \n\nThiswill be a direct contact via amateur radio between students in France at the JeanAlloitteau School and Astronaut Thomas Pesquet, amateur radio call sign KG5FYG.Students will take turns asking their questions. Appropriate local Covid-19protocols are adhered to as applicable for each ARISS contact. The downlinkfrequency for this contact is 145.800 MHZ and may be heard by listeners who arewithin the ISS-footprint that also encompasses the radio relay ground station.\n\n \n\nAmateur radio operators, using the call signF1MOJ, will operate the ham radio ground station for this contact. \n\n \n\nTheARISS radio contact is scheduled for October 18, 2021 at 10:06 am CEST (Vinça,France) (8:06 UTC, 4:06 am EDT, 3:06 am CDT,2:06 am MDT, 1:06 am PDT). \n\n \n\nThe JeanAlloiteau is a rural school in the Pyrénées-Orientales department (66), in thesouth of France, at the foot of Canigou Peak. About 150 students will be involved in this ARISS contact.
