It\nwould\n be really great to see some amateur radio activity schedules again!\n I’m in the process of writing the “Amateur Radio in Space’\n[ARiS]\n column for Radio ZS and I’d really like to write of some good\nnews.\n 73 Eddie ZS6BNE\n\"Jan-Albert Koekemoer\" May 07 01:34PM +0200 ^ [5]\n Hello\n We've indeed have a long \"radio silence\" now. Some good news is that\nwe're\n reprogramming the command transceiver on the satellite used by the\nSA-AMSAT\n payload (CTR-VU2) tonight. This will hopefully sidestep the issue\nwe've had\n with the cut-off at the PTT tail. The idea is to keep the PTT active\nfor the\n 15 minute duration that the SA-AMSAT payload will be active at a\ntime, i.e.\n uncouple the PTT functionality from the rest of the SA-AMSAT payload\n functions.\n We will then make sure it works as expected (hopefully first half of\nnext\n week) and if all goes well, aim to have the payload fully\noperational and in\n service again by the end of the week.\n With some unexpected hiccups on the satellite, the commissioning\ntook longer\n than expected. We've already completed the initial transfer of\noperations to\n SAC (March) and will be completing the training of their Mission\nSpecialists\n this coming Mon - Wed. We should then be in a position to have >95%\nof\n mission operations in place at SAC.\n SunSpace will continue to provide expert support for the duration of\nthe\n satellite lifetime.\n Thank you for your patience!\n Regards\n JA\n -----Original Message-----\n From: [email protected]\n[mailto:[email protected]] On\n Behalf Of Eddie ZS6BNE\n Sent: 07 May 2010 12:49 PM\n To: Sumbandila satellite\n Subject: [Sumbandila: 247] Sumbandila amateur radio schedules\n Hi guys,\n What's happening amateur radio wise on Sumbandilasat lately?
