It sells for\naround $5.00 There should be other manufacturers of strap wrenches that\ncould be used.\n\nApply the strap near the threaded end of the element, not farther than a\nhalf inch from the boom. The threaded insert should prevent collapse of the\ntubing. I recommend not using a pliers, it will chew up the outside of the\ntubing. Proper use of the strap wrench should apply enough torque to remove\nthe element.\n\nThe recommendation of the use of copper particle anti-seize compound is \ngood.\n\nAny other suggestions ?\n\nBest from ray at Elk Antennas \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n-----Original Message-----\nFrom: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On\nBehalf Of [email protected]\nSent: Thursday, June 03, 2010 12:00 PM\nTo: [email protected]\nSubject: AMSAT-BB Digest, Vol 5, Issue 250\n\nSend AMSAT-BB mailing list submissions to\n\[email protected]\n\nTo subscribe or unsubscribe via the World Wide Web, visit\n\thttp://amsat.org/mailman/listinfo/amsat-bb\nor, via email, send a message with subject or body 'help' to\n\[email protected]\n\nYou can reach the person managing the list at\n\[email protected]\n\nWhen replying, please edit your Subject line so it is more specific\nthan \"Re: Contents of AMSAT-BB digest...\"\n\n\nToday's Topics:\n\n 1. It\nis an ELK, NOT Arrow, that is stuck.? I am now in\nEurope with no antenna, will try to get on the sats anyway somehow. \n\nAt least one day, I will work AO-7 from the spot where Slovakia, Hungary,\nand Austria touch together, thus 3 countries for one qso.\n\n73, Bill NZ5N/OM9ACA\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n------------------------------\n\nMessage: 2\nDate: Thu, 03 Jun 2010 12:30:05 -0400\nFrom: John Papay <[email protected]>\nSubject: [amsat-bb] Hudsonville Michigan Hamfest\nTo: [email protected]\nMessage-ID: <[email protected]>\nContent-Type: text/plain; charset=\"us-ascii\"; format=flowed\n\nThere will be an AMSAT table at the Hudsonville, MI,\nhamfest on June 5th from 8am to 2pm. Doug KD8CAO and\nJohn K8YSE will be on hand to discuss satellites; AMSAT\ngear will be available for purchase. If you live in\nWest Michigan, please stop by and say hello.\n\nThere will be a satellite demo during the hamfest starting\nwith an AO-51 pass at 1203 UTC. We will try to work AO-7\nat 1345z, SO-50 at 1555z, VO-52 at 1611z and HO-68 at 1713z.\nWe will be using a mobile setup with a TS2000, an Arrow UHF\n7x7, 5 el Mosley on 2m, G5400b rotor with SatPC32 controlling\nthe rotor and radio. Hopefully we will have a good view of\nthe sky. We may be on some Friday evening passes during the\nsetup and pot-luck event. Check our position on www.aprs.fi\nand search for K8YSE-8. We would appreciate contacts during\nthe demo, especially from other hamfests.\n\nK8YSE/M will be operating on Friday June 4th en route to EN62 from\nEN91. Hopefully there will be places to stop during passes on\nthe way. I will try to operate on the way back on Monday, June\n7th as well. Check aprs.fi for our position.\n\n73,\nJohn K8YSE\n\n\n\n------------------------------\n\nMessage: 3\nDate: Thu, 03 Jun 2010 11:23:11 -0700\nFrom: Clint Bradford <[email protected]>\nSubject: [amsat-bb] BP Spill\nTo: AMSAT BB <[email protected]>\nMessage-ID: <[email protected]>\nContent-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii\n\nTwo visuals that really put the depth and breadth of the Gulf oil disaster\nin perspective for me -\n\nA widget that converts \"barrels\" into gallons as it maintains a running\ntotal of the spill - http://tinyurl.com/bp-widget\n\nAnd a site where you can \"overlay\" onto Google maps the size of the spill -\nhttp://www.ifitwasmyhome.com/\n\nClint \"Off Topic Again\" Bradford, K6LCS\n\n\n\n------------------------------\n\nMessage: 4\nDate: Thu, 03 Jun 2010 11:31:22 -0700\nFrom: Clint Bradford <[email protected]>\nSubject: [amsat-bb] VUCC Award\nTo: AMSAT BB <[email protected]>\nMessage-ID: <[email protected]>\nContent-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii\n\nFor the purpose of working toward a VUCC, does working the same callsign but\nvia a different satellite count as two contacts?\n\nClint\n\n\n------------------------------\n\nMessage: 5\nDate: Thu, 3 Jun 2010 14:59:14 -0400\nFrom: Dave Webb KB1PVH <[email protected]>\nSubject: [amsat-bb] Re: VUCC Award\nTo: Clint Bradford <[email protected]>\nCc: AMSAT BB <[email protected]>\nMessage-ID:\n\t<[email protected]>\nContent-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1\n\nClint,\n\nVUCC goes by grids, not necessarily who you work on what bird.
