    "content": "\n\n                    OSCAR-11 REPORT\n\n                     16 July 2007\n\nI have now updated the  telemetry archive on my website to include all the\ntelemetry received in 2007.  The news archive has also been updated. The\nURL is www.users.zetnet.co.uk/clivew\n\nDuring the period 15 June to 15 July 2007, no signals have been received\nfrom the satellite's 145.826 MHz. beacon. I have not received any\nreception reports.\n\nThe satellite is currently subject to solar eclipses, which will continue\nuntil 20 August.  The duration of the eclipses is now decreasing and will\nreach a time of 10 minutes, around 10 August. At that level the satellite\nmay be able to sustain continuous operation, however it is not possible to\npredict when the satellite will switch ON.  If there was failed attempt to\nswitch ON just before 10 August, then it could be the end of August\nbefore the satellite resumed continuous transmissions.\n\nThe battery can no longer power the satellite during the eclipse season.\nWhen the battery voltage decreases to a preset level, the watchdog timer\nresets, and the beacon is turned off for approximately 21 days.  When the\nsatellite restarts, eclipses could cause the beacon to switch OFF, after a\nshort time, probably less than one orbit. This short transmission could\noccur any where over the world, and could be repeated at 20.7 day\nintervals.\n\nOwing to the lack of accurate timings, it is impossible to predict when and\nwhere the satellite will be heard during these short transmission periods.\nIt is just possible that someone tuning around 145.826 MHz. may hear the\nsatellite, by chance.\n\nThe Beacon frequencies are -\n\nVHF 145.826 MHz.  AFSK FM  ASCII Telemetry\n\nUHF 435.025 MHz.  OFF\n\nS-band 2401.5 MHz. OFF\n\nListeners to OSCAR-11 may be interested in visiting my website. The current\nmonthly bulletin contains further details of the satellite's status. If\nyou need to know what OSCAR-11 should sound like, there is a short audio\nclip for you to hear. The website contains an archive of news & telemetry\ndata. It also contains details about using a soundcard or hardware\ndemodulators for data capture.  There is software for capturing data, and\ndecoding ASCII telemetry.
