"content": "Hi,\n\nA while ago, I asked about ways to improve my delivery of capture \nsatellite APRS packets. I didn't explain myself well, so I am making a \nsecond attempt.\n\nIt is perfectly possible that I misunderstand how this should work, or \nthat I am doing something wrong.\n\nI have a spare machine that has Windows and UIView installed on it and \nI have been using that as an Sgate.\n\nMy Internet connection was not lost at all during this pass.\n\nShown below is a typical example of what I see.\n\nUIView shows this packet (below) as gated to the Net (cut and pasted \nfrom the \"Traffic gated from RF to the Internet\" window) .\n2015-Nov-01 06:42:14 PSAT-1>APOFF,ARISS,ZL2CIA,I:\ns#023381,0z290,ajFLCGLBGgkFnIFJLHJjFnBECMGNfFlkEmLF\n\nThis is from the Findu site:\n20151101064809 : \nW3ADO-1]BEACON,SGATE,qAR,UA0SNV-1:T#010,089,072,075,104,215,11111111,0001,1\n20151101055630 : \nPSAT-1]APOFF,ARISS,qAS,EA6XQ:s#023352,0z290,JlAOJAIlApgAnNBNMBNkAnjAoMBLNCOeAjlA \n\n20151101055629 : PSAT-1]APOFF,ARISS,qAS,EA6XQ:!05 . S\\127 . \nWS120/999/W3ADO s#023352,0z290\n20151101053751 : \nPSAT-1]APOFF,TCPIP*,qAS,N0AN:T#098,806,071,919,873,771,00011100\n\nI would expect my gated packet to appear on the APRS-IS at \n20151101064214 (give or take a few seconds).\nI would have thought it would be shown between the two records at\n20151101055630\nand\n20151101064809\n\nNo other captured packet beat mine to the APRS-IS. In fact there are no \npackets at all from ZL or VK stations who would have been in the \nsatellite footprint shown (none, as I write).\n\nI looks to me as though the packet didn't make it to the APRS-IS. If any \nother station also gated packets during this pass (which seems likely), \nthen those didn't make it either.\n\nIs there anything I can change or alter at my end to improved the chance \nof captured and gated packets making it to the APRS-IS?\n\n\nSil\n\n",
