Using the method of your choice, give us your best guesstimate\nof when it will finally reenter. One submission per person, class, or club,\nplease.\n\nAlan\nWA4SCA\n\n\n====================\n\n\nAMSAT is happy to announce the ARISSat-1 Chicken Little Contest. \nThis is your opportunity to calculate, or guess, when ARISSat-1 \nfalls out of orbit. This is defined as the time it crosses an \naltitude of 78 kilometers, which is considered to be the point of \nno return. While not part of the contest, the actual reentry may \nbe visible depending on location. Reports are encouraged. \n\nAs in the past, we will have three divisions:\n\n+ Student category for Kindergarten through grade 8\n+ Student category for High School, grades 9 through 12\n+ All others will be in the adult category. \n\nIn addition to individual students, we encourage classes or organ-\nizations such as science clubs to make group submissions. Submissions \nare limited to one per person or group. Members of a group making a \nsubmission may not submit a second, individual entry.\n\n+ Adults and individual students should include their name and amateur\n callsign if they have one. \n\n+ Individual students should also give their grade in school. \n\n+ Student groups should include the name of their group or class, \n school, and which category they represent. \n\n+ Please give the UTC date in the format of day, month, year, hours, \n minutes, and seconds. \n\n+ Finally, we would like to know your city, state, province or \n region, and your country.\n\n+ Submissions will close on 15 September 2011 at 23:59:00 UTC. \n\nThe closest predictions in each category will be recognized for their \nachievement. Send your submissions to [email protected]. \nGood luck!\n\n[ANS thanks ARISSat-1/KEDR team for the above information]\n\n\n", "attachments": [] }
